In Spanish® Beginners 1 

This is a practical course covering basic communication for general purposes. Students will speak Spanish from the first day. The major emphasis is on listening and speaking skills, with an introduction to the written language.

Course Content

Students learn and practice the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking in Spanish.  The skills cover a range of basic situational contexts dealing with elementary activities, asking for and following directions, understanding how to tell the time etc.

Learning outcomes

Students learn to express opinions, physical sensations, feelings, and needs in a simple and effective way. Students will be able to read brief letters and texts related to daily life.  By the end of the In Spanish® Beginners 1 course students should be able to use basic Spanish vocabulary and structures in simple everyday situations. 

Requirements

No previous knowledge of the Spanish language is needed.  However, students who have a desire to learn Spanish should feel confident that this course is fun, challenging and worthy of effort.
